Raubu Cabin Village is a small, unique holiday plot development with just 8 plots spread across 20,000 m², on the sunny south side of Vatsfjord in Ål municipality.

The plot area extends all the way down to Vatsfjord, at approx. 750 m above sea level, with its own shoreline offering space for fishing, swimming, barbecuing, and private boat moorings. There is direct access from your cabin door into the wilderness – on foot, by bike or on skis.

Throughout winter, 10 km of floodlit cross-country ski trails are available just 300 metres away. The trails connect directly to the wider trail network of 350–400 km across Skarveheimen. To the west, the trails run along Reineskarvet with Hallingskarvet as a backdrop, while to the east they pass through the Bergsjø area, Reineskarvet, Lauvdalsbrea and onwards down Leveldåsen, Votndalsåsen to Liatoppen.

Just west of Raubu Cabin Village, approx. 5–10 minutes by car, lies a small alpine facility with Norway’s finest toboggan run – Skarslia Ski and Sledding Centre.

A 10-minute drive west towards Ål brings you to Ål Ski Centre, with a base station at 566 m and a summit station at 1,040 m. The resort features a ski park, 4 lifts and 6 runs totalling 15 km, ranging from green to black. The ski centre has for many years served as a training ground for the Norwegian alpine national team.

For those wishing to spend a day at larger ski resorts, Geilo or Hemsedal are just 50–60 minutes away by car.

In summer, Hemsedal is home to the two best golf courses in Hallingdal, and a scenic mountain road leads directly from Vats to Hemsedal. The mountain crossing, a wonderful nature experience in itself, takes approximately 40 minutes.

Ål town centre is just 20 minutes away by car, offering a pharmacy, wine monopoly, building supplies, grocery stores, bookshop, florists and more. Ål has a large regional health centre with emergency services and air ambulance, a railway station on the Bergen Line, and a cultural centre with library, 2 cinema screens, an art gallery, the Nesch Museum (visual arts) and a regional dance venue. Ål Cultural Centre hosts an extensive programme of national and international events throughout the year.
