More and more people are becoming second home owners. Investing in a second home is investing in leisure time. Wouldn’t you love to have a place you can go to after a busy working week or during vacations to escape from the hectic daily life and relax? Your own place where you feel completely at home, where you can go when it suits you.

A growing group of Dutch people consciously choose a second home in their own country or one of our neighboring countries. Reason: nice and close. So we avoid long and stressful car journeys or chaos at the airport. With a place to stay close to home, we can easily enjoy it for a while. In addition, we are really starting to rediscover our own country and its immediate neighbors. And rightly so, because there are so many beautiful places here!

A second home is increasingly seen as an investment. It is currently not very interesting for many people to leave savings in the bank. Investing in recreational real estate has a nice return potential. You have the security of stone and the investment is tangible, unlike shares on the expo. Not to mention, in the long run, you often have the opportunity to sell your recreational property with a capital gain. Moreover, if the property is not rented out, you can enjoy it yourself.
